Thanks for attaching the Lincoln Project video. The whole thing with Musk is so disgusting, but I am afraid this is just the beginning. Keep up the good work you do every day.
Socket to ‘em, Jack. We thousandaires have to stick together. I too mourn the demise of the WaPo. I like the idea of at least imagining that the former Mrs Bezos might be enticed to buy it. Wouldn’t that be something—to have a true philanthropist and humanist minding that store.
I'm a hundredaire and a public servant. Dad told me I shouldn't be a school teacher (the only career advice he ever gave me) and there you have it.
Used to be a Multnomah County resident (been about 6 decades ago) and haven't read a reference for about as long!
In other dimensions, I work hard for the small city that employs me. Regulatory matters (water and wastewater), permitting, addressing, and whatever needs doing. I'm useful--key to my reality. Worked for the state, then a big city and then smaller entities--so, broad scope, helps my current situation.
My Sanity Clause is to watch Mystery Science Theater 3000 and to not watch news--just read.
Well, yeah, Jack. We’ve been immersing ourselves in college football these days. Oregon will take the Rose Bowl, easy peasy.
I’m working on deep breathing and meditation to get me through the next four years. I’ve been reading plenty of articles from all corners expressing righteous anger. For me, though, I’m ready to move beyond the piss off. It’s fun to be spitting mad for a while but the adrenaline headache that happens afterwords isn’t worth it. At least for me.
Call me a stick in the mud. I’m ready to fight back. It not going to be pretty. Think Zombie Apocalypse!
After catching up on your illustrated week, this short essay on the State of the Chaos went well with 2 fresh Sunday morning coffees!! You cut to the chase on this one Jack and sum it up quite nicely for those of us that don't have the experience in the spheres you do to filter down to the real conclusions for us to chew on, as tough as that might be some times!!
Well done, as always, Jack. Courage and character ARE in short supply among certain politicians these days. It is going to be such a LONG four years. Sigh....
