Well done and thank you. Harris' low profile during the many outrages since the '47' inauguration has disqualified her for any further role in government in my view. Silence is complicity. She needs to exit stage left and leave the stage to those with some energy and backbone.

Thanks for laying it out so well, Jack. The number one priority is we have to retrieve the Oval Office and Congress. The D’s have an extraordinary bench as you noted, while the R’s have a collection of sycophants for the moron. I can’t see any of them winning against a good candidate.

This time it’s ours to lose, but the strongest candidate must be running. Sorry, Kamala, but you’d make a good governor.

Nader is still alive? He's been a spoiler for too many people before. And my father never forgave him for getting rid of his favorite car, the Corvair. :-)

That said, I have mixed feelings about Harris running '28, assuming we'll have an election. People who have run for president before don't have a great track record at winning, with a few exceptions. As for governor, I think she should. We'll need a strong governor with POS around.

I thought the same thing about Nader! I think he’s mummified, though.

Harris allowed herself to be back burnered for 3.5 years under ego driven Biden and that’s why we’re in this pickle. Too little, too late. Time to move on, become a lobbyist/speaker/memoirist like all the other ex pols. CCA? How crass.

Porter would kick ass here and that’s what we need. So well said, Jack.

I have always been a fan of Katie Porter, and it would be a shame if she dropped out because of Harris, though I can see it from her perspective.

I always loved watching her at hearings, totally destroy a CEO or a prominent businessman with her smarts and her charts.

I do hope Kamala announces her decision soon.

I lived in California (unfortunately) for nine years before reaching the Promised Land. California politics has NEVER made sense to me. The office of governor of California has been occupied by a veritable rogues gallery and gives me headaches just thinking about all of that. BUT California has never had a woman governor, have they? Maybe it’s time.

It could be that she is honoring the proper period of grieving a lost one. Haven't seen enough of her to tell if she remains attired in the suitable mourning black

Truthfully, I wish Harris had never left the Senate—the position aligned with her skill set. IMO, with experience, she would have made an exceptional senator. At the moment, her biggest tell is, she's whiling away the summer months, trying to to come to terms with the obvious—the governorship of California is not a participation trophy. She is ill suited for the position, doesn't want it, but most likely realizes she has no real chance of being the 2028 Democratic nominee for President.
