Maybe. He may be one of the smartest people in the room (not quite Jerry Brown, but nobody is), but that may be to his disadvantage. He doesn't come across as having the common touch - I suggest you try listening to J.B. Pritzker, IL Gov., who isn't often mentioned, but seems to have that. D's lost in '24 in part because they failed to brand the orange menace as the failure and loser (and liar) that he is. That ought to have started in 2022, or whenever he dropped the first hint that he'd try to inflict himself on us again. Policy may be important, but that's rarely what wins elections.

I think you’re absolutely right about Newsom. If there still is a USA and a Democratic Party in 2028, and if free elections for President are still allowed, he’d be the obvious choice.

He's a good start, I'm looking at 2026 races first. To all of your readers who have been effected by the Devastating Fires in and around the LA areas, Blessings 💔🙏💯👍

Let’s see how effective he is in protecting people who have come to California, and those of us who were born here. These farm worker (for example) sweeps? Terrifying on so many levels. And why now? When LA burns.

I would have suggested snow skies instead - you can go skiing literally within a 100 miles of LA and Cranmore is only 54 minutes from Sacramento. :-) Something you can't do in Iowa, save for cross country.

I’m liking whoever decides to go get the corporate mongrels and who are chewing at our bellies.
