I was obnoxious at the ICE office near us. We can hear the flash bangs from our condo. I cry when I see immigrants going into that building with no legal representation. I think the White House should add to their pomp and pageantry with a changing of the diaper ceremony. I am reading much more nonfiction these days. Strongman by Ruth Ben Ghiat is a real eye opener for those of us who haven’t studied much history. I also bought Separation of Church and Hate. And I have started following Robert Reich. Even the elderly can learn and share.
I cannot believe the America I live in now. I marched against the Vietnam War, seeing how it changed the drafted-crippled them physically , mentally and killed them. Never would I have worried about my free speech or right to protest , or
worried I would be arrested or lose my job over it. My heart breaks. Don’t give up, we need people like you. At 78, I only
hope I can live long enough to see this dark era end and light will Bless all.
Well said, Jack. I wonder how Herblock dealt with McCarthy and his fountain of lies. It never occurred to me until recently just how similar that time was to the present. Some analyst— maybe it was you— pointed out that McCarthy’s technique was to tell a whopper, then slither off to tell another one before the truth tellers could catch up. That’s precisely what the moron and his goons are doing but they call it flooding the zone with shit. That low life Navarro was being interviewed today and was asked about the recurring suggestion that the moron would run for a third term. Navarro just smirked and said they’re working on it. Gave me the willies.
It’s even more impressive that you and your fellow cartoonists refuse to shy away from exposing the truth, at a time when truth is under assault, and threats of violence are constant and real.
Keep doing what you do. We’re out here cheering you on.
Please know you’re keeping us going—and are our best chance at holding onto sanity!
I’m so thankful for you, Jack and your artistry not just in cartoons but in your writing as well. ❤️ Putting pen to paper isn’t easy…not even a little bit. I admire your and other artists tenacity so much! Talent, sure but just dogged focus, seeing something through and educating so many. I want to congratulate you and I want to say…please stay safe out there in this Trump hellhole quagmire!!! ❤️
Thank you, Jack, for opening my eyes once again to the extreme danger our country is in from our own government. I will say that this article brought home to me the clear and present danger faced by people who speak out about this regime. This is not the country that I grew up in. I appreciate your words and your cartoons. Please be safe.
This made me sad, but also gave me hope. Hang in there, Jack. I, for one (and I hope one of many), am very glad you're still here. And keep up the great work.
You are the best! (Well, at least in the top ten… 😁). Hopefully we can survive the current “Fake Administration” and return to decency. Keep up the great work!
Jack, I was fortunate to hear you deliver these words in person yesterday. Your Kingsley Art Club lecture was excellent. By the end of your talk, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Thanks for helping us get through these troubling times.
Bravo Jack! Bravo! I begin every morning before I even get out of bed searching the net for the morning’s new editorial cartoons, wherever I can find them. It’s an increasingly difficult search, but I will not give up as long as there those like you who still believe. And I do.
You stand for truth and the coourage to put it out there every day. We have to show our support for you and all the other reporters, cartoonists, comedians and whoever isn't afraid to speak truth to this kind of authoritarian, fascistic power that we are facing. Thanks
Thanks, Jack. We love your work =D
Thank you Jack. The world needs you pal.
I can’t do much, but I am vocal. You have taught me so much. Stay strong!
You did a ton, lady, and I thank you and Paul.

So well said, Jack, and heartfelt, too.

Cartoon is genius. Speech was spot on. So glad you passed on the fly shop career move!
I love my fly shop! ;-)

Great to see you there! Hope to see you soon for coffee or whatever.
Couldn’t be more timely! Some days – like today – it is just too much to accept. Somehow, we need to support each other to defend what we value most.
