I'm very proud to say I was awarded the Herblock Prize for Editorial Cartooning today!

Me with Mr. Block in 1998. It was a great honor to know him. He was a very kind and thoughtful man, who has paid for the college educations of over one thousand students.
I’ll write more about this soon, but suffice it to say I am honored beyond belief, and will continue to try to rise to the level that Herb established in his stellar career.—J.

I used to look forward to Herblock's incisive wit when I was a teen reading, I dunno, one of the damn Chicago papers we used to get (and I used to deliver). He was my gateway into appreciating the fine art of political cartooning.
Take a minute to savor...then a minute to breathe...then UP AND AT 'EM, GODDAMMIT!
